Born in Ohio, USA, to a Lebanese father and a Syrian mother, Mayar completed his secondary education in
Paris, France. In 2018, he enrolled at
École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
as an Environmental Sciences and Engineering student.
In 2023, Mayar joined the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
as a visiting student and was appointed as a Research Fellow at the
Dubai Future Labs
. Later that year, he earned his MEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering from
Imperial College London
.
Mayar is currently a Research Fellow at
MIT's
Senseable City Lab
, where he works on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of urban informatics, environmental monitoring, and AI for infrastructure resilience.
Mayar is also part of the

, where he is involved in the Urban and Mediterranean-type Ecosystems task forces.
